I have to correct you here, its not $40 x [sold copies], its much less than that (retailers/publishers/etc get money too).

If im not mistaken, third party get about $24 per copy on a $60 game shipped, while the gaming console owner (sony/ms/nintendo) gets about $4. Since its first party that would mean they profit from both so $28 each copy?

With a $40 price tag the profit drops of course, so lets say about $19 made each copy. (digital will be higher obviously because no retailer+disc/etc price).

Right now 250k+ shipped (estimated #) so 250k x $19 = $4.75mil made. 500k would mean $9.5mil
