Because that character is huge, this is DLC.  The characters in DLC have to be enticing to encourage people to put down the extra cash.  No one is gonna drop extra cash for Daisy as a DLC character.  They get money in return from DLC sales.

But what incentive do Nintendo fans have to buy Ryu as DLC? Many people probably don't know or care since the content from his franchise isn't on their platforms.

All I'm saying is that even just a Street Fighter spinoff or port would be mutually beneficial for both parties. The SSB DLC would encourage the game's sales and the game would encourage DLC sales. It's a win-win.

Using that logic why is Ness in the game?  Why is Game and Watch in the game?  Why is Duck Hunt in the game?  Since obviously were ignoring old games like SF2.

Ryu is as apart of Nintendo's history on the on the SNES as those charcters are on their respective consoles.
