You're right, I'm not selling the Xbox One. Phil is. And he's getting his ass kicked... period. Obviously, whatever he and his company are doing, isn't working. Sony won the PS1 and PS2 generation by attacking. Sony is ahead NOW because they attacked the Xbox One over their DRM policy. This isn't something I made up. It's been proven over and over again that you have to attack in this industry if you want to win. So either Phil and MS don't want to win (BS) or they're just off point (bingo). |
Phil isn't the one who damaged the brand. He has been trying to fix the countless pots broken by his predecessor's doings. The most important aspect of a company is to make profit. The XBO isn't selling near PS2 numbers the way the PS4 is doing now. But that doesn't mean it isn't selling well either. It is selling quite well despite being outsold by the PS4.
You take this console war childishness a notch too seriously.
The way Phil is handling things at XBox, the way he remains classy at all times, and present himself as one who actually enjoys gaming, tell me which console maker has ever done that in the industry? None. So it's a little premature to call this approach vain. You have only examples for when a console maker would take pot shots at the competition. So unless you expect instant results, despite the reveal fiasco, there's not much for you to make a case. The brand is in need of a change of image because of how Mattrick and his team handled things. Phil has done a very good job to achieve that so far.
