300k people played it at the same time on Steam today, not sure how this Steam Spy works but a developer said once that first day sales are around 8x higher as the peak player count is on the first day (different time zones, not everyone plays it just because he owns it and so on) . I guess the multiplicator is lower for GTA because people play this game for a longer time as other games which they probably stop after an hour or so but still, I guess it's easily more than 1m on Steam.
