| FromDK said: Only way we will not see it on "full retail releases on a widespread scale" is if we say stop.. and that is not an "assumptions" but very real reality.. greedy men always wants more (you do know that.. right?) (And do you really think its super nice when a spoilled kid just pay to have the same "stuff" you spent 20 nights to get..?) So it's more the iddea of a new "pay to some" model i'm against.. If you like the game buy it.. but you are making your self a "fools favor" when you public talk about it's ok.. we should ALWAYS demand that full priced games also are full.. If you not see that.. I think you are to young to understand how "the greedy men" think.. or hired by them..

Actually, the best way to not see it on full releases is to continue down the road we are going down with regards to the freemium/pay-to-win mentality. Greedy men are greedy, sure. Generally speaking though, those who are greedy and already in positions of power are also relatively smart. They can see the resistance to the pay-to-win model and see that it isn't a good business move to put something like that into a full retail release. At least, not yet.
Hell, look at Evolve, which isn't a pay-to-win but certain is a DLC whore. Lot of flak going on regarding that particular venture. You think the majority of companies that operate on the idea of "profit now" are going to throw a pay-to-win model in on top of a $60 game? I don't. The ones that do? They will most likely fail at it. Or, it will be a proven model and suddenly gaming "evolves" (no pun intended) into that particular modality. Hell, as it is retail prices haven't increased but production costs have. It is a logical step for the developers to take to make a profit. Right now that increased revenue comes from optional purchases. What do you think happens when the optional purchases stop being purchased?
Tell me, in this specific game that we are discussing here, what was left out from the retail release that you can buy with these microtransactions? I can answer for you: nothing. You can still do fatalities without paying a dime (provided you have the "skill" to do so) and you can still unlock the full krypt. You can argue that they left out an easier way to do fatalities sure. At that point though, aren't you expecting the game to hold your hand a little too much?
Regarding your "super nice" comment, I don't really care if someone pays 10 bucks or whatever it is to unlock the stuff. Not everyone has the same amount of gaming time. If they want the <insert interesting costume name here> but don't have the time to farm for it in the game then spending the money will get them what they want. If their ownership of a digital item is that big a concern to you then perhaps your priorities in gaming need to be looked at.
