I don't think he implying that the characters being killed off will stay dead; we know they won't. However, it is odd they are killing characters they don't own the right to use in their cinematic universe.

Marvel has been a lot of things lately that make zero sense. You don't kill off or change your cash cows...oh I meant "characters". I suspect Marvel will shut down sooner or later.

Owned by Disney, the movie side of cashing in won't last. Comics will stay around. Marvel have been bad because they have reached a stale place with unimaginative writers. I mean their current biggest book, Avengers, is writen by Hickman (yes, 'Who?' is the correct response to this), he's no award winner, he is no legendary writer. The story he has write is nonsense and jibberish, you'd think they go more traditional to entice the new crowd arriving with the films but it's so different it's a joke. Marvel have been throwing some of their big guns at the X-men of all things with little success as well.

Maybe it's time Marvel did a DC style 'reset'. You do have to remember that Marvel have near stopped promoting X-men characters, according to Claremont, last year sometime the writers were told not to create any new characters, as they would automatically be available for Fox to use. Many rumoured they have also stopped making toys or any other merchandise. Here is a big hint, the new LEGO Marvel game isn't Marvel 2, no it's Lego Marvel Avengers.

Hmm, pie.
