It's a bonus tossed in for those who DO want the toys. You don't have to have an Amiibo for every character in smash or every driver in kart etc. The only game where anything of substance is tied to the game is priced fairly to accommodate.
But I will say the cards could be an excellent way to give the content to those who don't desire the figurines. |
I feel like the mii costumes in MK8 have enough substance to where it doesn't seem fair to those who only want the content. Like I said, to someone who likes Amiibo, they get one nice little bonus custume. Do someone who doesn't care about them, they are loosing out on 19 custumes.
But yes, all I really want is a cheaper alternative to them. People will still buy the toys, because that's what they are mainly interested in. The extra functionality are merely their external gimmick.
