What would have sold most? 3D World, Galaxy 3, or a Mario 64 successor?

Software sells consoles. Unambitious unwatend games are not going to sell consoles.

That's part of it sure, but not everything, see N64/GCN. Also the 3DS is selling purely off of "unambitious" games, and just lol @ Mario/Smash/Kart/etc. being unwanted.
