Or what Nintendo could do is make the portable versions of all games the standard for retail.

If you have the home NX and want to play in 1080p with the added graphical effects you go on the eShop and pay an extra say $10 to be able to download the higher res version.

That could work too if the aim is just to have one version for retail to avoid confusion. It would probably let them save on cartridge space too.

So lets say I buy Zelda NX from my Best Buy (physical version). It's $39.99.

To play it on my home variant with the higher spec graphics though I pay $10 extra and I get all the extra 1080p version which downloads onto my NX Home memory (HDD or flash drive).

So Nintendo effectively gets their $49.99 that they would have for a console game since I'm using it like a console title, but retail can have the streamlined single SKU.

Idk that still seems a bit wonky, just make a standard price across both platforms. Couldn't both devices share the same type of game cards? It's not like PC games have different disks depending on how powerful ur PC is, so just make a single game cart that plays on either the handheld or console at a standard price, $29.99-$49.99 depending on the game.
