If you bothered to look the comment I responded to said the 3DS would have the same number of quality titles as the DS. Also that goes the other way too, DS has Okami, Disgaea, TWEWY, Star Fox, Super Princess Peach, Metroid, Digemon also those dozens of casual games like Nintendogs, Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents, etc all count, they might not be your type of game but they excel in their genre. |
And that comment is not necessarily wrong. Regardless, I was taking issue with you directly comparing franchise entries to make your point. The primary reason why the DS has multiple Zeldas, Pokemons, and Mario and Luigis is because its been out for so long. And I can name plenty of additional games to. Shinobi, Smash Bros, Resident Evil Revelations, Pilot Wings, Steel Diver, Bravely Default, Project X Zone, and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Not to mention numerous digital titles like Dillon's Rolling Western 1 and 2, Sakura Samurai, Ironfall, Fractured Soul, Pushmo, Mighty Switchforce, Fluidity Spin Cycle, and Gunman Clyde.
And hey, even if you don't want to include them, 3DS also has plenty of quality remakes and console ports as well, which are still quality even if they didn't come from 3DS originally.
In the end, I don't really think listing loads of games solves anything, but 3DS is no slouch in the software department. I'd say that 3DS's support compared to DS hasn't really gone away so much as it's moved to the eShop. I have personally enjoyed my 3DS and it's big library of quirky digital titles, remakes, and console quality retail releases more than I did the DS, which was a great system too.
