One of definitions of relevant - meaningful or purposeful in current society or culture.

For example, plasma TVs are, arguably, superior than any LCD technology...but they are mostly irrelevant in today's society.

Sony, arguably, makes better TVs than Samsung - but nowdays they have, more or less, become irrelevant in TV business.

WiiU, arguably, currently has better first party exclusives than PS/XBO - but, considering sales, that's almost completely irrelevant to most console gamers.

And so on...

over 20% marketshare isn't irrelevant, and they do get the best exclusives and most successfull handhelds.

As it stands now, it will most likely be closer to 10% at the end of gen, far cry (pun intended) from 7th gen...as for WiiU exclusives, maybe, maybe not, but still irrelevant to most console gamers, which will be some 90% at the end of gen.

I haven't mentioned handhelds in the first place, but that's rapidly shrinking market, overall will probably end up around 1/3 of 7th gen...if anyone is relevant there that's Nintendo, but that whole market, apart from maybe Japan, is becoming less relevant...pretty much like Plasma vs LCD analogy, we all know which one is better and which one is winning.
