Well this was a somewhat interesting week.

Poor Rodea.  I had really hoped it would do okay, but not even in the top 10 for 3DS games and #4 for WiiU... yikes.

I really doubt NIS and Yuji Naka expected big numbers for this game. It's about as niche as you can get and wasn't advertised very heavily. I have a feeling it will do better in the west but it still won't sell that great. 100-200k LT WW would be a huge accomplishment, imo.

I'd imagine it'll be limited in the west by print run.  NISA games tend to not ship a whole lot of copies.

It's weird, I thought there would've been a bigger positive reception for this game on western forums given the nostalgia-love for Nights, but I'm only seeing fleeting posts here and there from people interested.  I'm going to be keen to watch its western sales at least.

Anyway elsewhere, SAO Vita doesn't tumble as much as COMG suggests, which is good.  Minecraft showing legs which is lovely too.  Shame for Terraformers - as I said on GAF, it seems that FuRyu doesn't have much luck with anime-licenced titles anymore.

I think the problem with Rodea is that it doesnt look like Nights at all. The color pallete, graphics and character designs of Nights are alot more appealing. When i look at Rodea i dont see Nights, i see a crappy Wii game that got delayed too much. The controls and graphics added to the overall lack of appeal compared to nights motivate that impression to me.

Hate it though, because i really like Yuji Naka games and i would be very pleased if he could make a comeback. Much like Sakaguchi and Yu Suzuki, they are great talent that was lost with old SEGA.
