I've been on VGC since 2007 as well so I've seen it develop from a hobby tracking site with a forum to a full blown professional analyst source frequently quoted by reputable, well known news publishers.

My take on the extension of time between updates was more of checking numbers for accuracy over predictable, weekly data updates that resulted in estimates further from official manufacturer and publisher reports.

Understandable, except it still seems as though there are just as many adjustments for incorrect estimates as there were years ago.

But, it need be pointed out that there is a paid for service for more in-depth analysis and data albeit still subject to the same inaccuracies and adjustments.

At this point, for up to date sales data, estimates, data and analysis users should be subscribing to the paid for service as opposed to hobbyist followers of the free access site. If there was any complaints to be had, it should be among those paying subscribers. VGC has become a legitimate successful business and it only makes sense that subscribing industry professionals have become first priority.
