yoscrafty said: Second one that comes to mind is from my all time favorite game: Journey. I personally think it's perfect in every regard, but what it excels at, in my opinion, is pacing. Everything just falls into place so perfectly and nothing feels too long or too short (despite being a 2-3 hour game). There's plenty of fantastic moments, but of course the best moment is probably the segment called "Road of trials" which you play roughly halfway through the game.
First game that made me cry of joy. I hear a lot of back talk about the game how it's artsy-fartsy or there's no real gameplay element. While I strongly disagree, I can respect their opinions. But I really think everyone should give this game a shot as I find it a huge disservice to not experience Journey. Anyway, enough fanboying. What moments do you guys have to share? |
Anyone who says that there's no real gameplay element to Journey is an idiot with no understanding of video game design. I'll not respect their opinions in your stead. Journey has some of the tightest, most effective, and most intelligent use of video game mechanics of any game, period. It's up there with the likes of Tetris, Super Mario Bros., and Mega Man 2/3. It's that good.
