You can get black and many other DS lites now.
There is rumor a black wii might be out this Christmas. Besides for color choices, not much else needs to be done in the short term besides increasing production.
I could see a wii elite, but not for a couple of years from now, after demand for the current model slows down and they can lower the price of the base model. The elite would be basically the same spec wise, but include an internal hard drive and wired ethernet would be standard.
Right now, the wii has the problem for online games that bluetooth conflicts with 802.11g... You really should be wired for real time online games when using bluetootch controllers...
