Yes, they will be relevant.

They'll do it by ignoring the major third party publishers and focusing on their own strengths.

Because that worked so well with the Wii U?

As the company is concerned, yes. They are profitable so it has worked for them.

As per the gamer, it's harder to say as it's likely on a person to person basis. If someone doesn't like Nintendo there likely isn't anything that they can do to turn that around. Then there are also the opposites. It's the people in the middle that they need to worry about, the ones that can be swayed and convinced to purchase their product. That is where they have largely failed with the Wii U so far, however they have still managed to do rather well with the 3DS so it isn't like they are unable to do it.

Some of it might have to do with what Sony and MS do as well. Kind of like how MS screwed the pooch and practically handed a crap ton of their fan base over to Sony in one fell swoop. If Sony continues the trend of pushing cloud (the ultimate DRM)that might sway their fanbase towards disloyalty, but it depends how they roll it out and if another is able to cash in on folly if there is any.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
