Nintendo's not in the business to look "cool" they're in the business to sell video games. They do it well enough that they were more profitable than "cool" companies like Sega and Microsoft. It is only when they give power to other (3rd party) companies (like EA) that they start to become unprofitable (which is evidenced by the Wii U.)

 


So you're essentially saying all other brands of neglectful of their IP's?

There aren't any other companies with IPs as strong, notorious and long lasting at Nintendo's. So that should tell you enough and answer your question.
