Nope. The PS2 had an expensive successor, which led to a good amount of PS2 sales even when the PS3 didn't take off as expected. In order to match PS2, PS4 needs to sell well even after PS5 launches, and if PS5 is at a good price, then there will not be a post-PS3 launch phenomenon PS2 had. Unless the PS5 is ridiculously expensive.
