Nowhere and never do they admit their mistakes, and transparently show the adjustments. It's always best to wait for NPD, it is monthly, but at the rate VGC publishes numbers, it's not that much slower. And at least it can be taken at face value.

Yeah true, but I think somewhere on this website there is a section that says their numbers are just estimates and they don't represent any actual factual numbers.

But yet they show sales that aren't rounded up/down and precisely to the unit. VGC also went through a period where they refused to accept NPD numbers and even official numbers from the companies themselves.

Agree, it's a strange way of handling, but at least the community is great!
