I've heard that FPSs are good for (mostly male) parties but I don't play them :)
Games I've played at parties: Wii Sports, Wii Play, SSBB, Guitar Hero 3, Mario Kart 64, Deal or No Deal PC, some quiz game that was on a DVD, Link's Crossbow Training, Duck Hunt, some form of Street Fighter 2, Southpark on PS2
Similar to Mario Party, you could play Sonic and the Secret Rings (and it moves at a faster pace).
