Anytime you can expand the industry to include consumers who previously were not consumers or former consumers, that's a very, very good thing for the industry as a whole.
It provides many development studios an alternative to the high development costs of the PS3/X360 meaning more studios stay in business instead of closing down. Granted we've had a lot of closures anyway because they gambled on the big budgets.
