The home console will be very watered down. I actually want Nintendo to make a system that could be a primary console and that means being technically competitive and having compelling third party support.

Then u are asking Nintendo to do something they have never done in 30+ years. Nintendo hardware has always, and I literally mean always, sold on the strength of exclusives.

NES, GB, SNES, N64, GBA, GC, DS, Wii, 3DS, Wii U, which one of these was sold on the strength of multiplats? None of them, they all sold on the strength of exclusives, whether that was 1st, 2nd, or 3rd party, it was always games that couldn't be played on other devices that caused Nintendo hardware to sell.

Read my post again, I didn't say it needs to sell primarily off the strength of major third party support. Anyway the exact same arguement could be made for the PS1+PS2. Multiplatform titles didn't become the norm til last gen, so of course PS2/Gamecube/Xbox+ anything prior sold primarily because of exclusives.

NES, GB, SNES, N64, GBA, GC, DS all had great third party support. NES, GB, SNES, N64, GBA, GC all were technilogically great systems.
