The last sold through number for WWHD that Famitsu gave was less than half of what its up there.

Shipped data would include digital sales. I assume WWHD was mentioned as a million seller in Nintendo's financial report and they usually have a regional breakdown. The only other possible source for shipped data would be a news piece on a blog about initial shipments.

I don't believe they had a regional breakdown that time. But it was at 1.26M globally last April.
