Because I don't want the handheld experience on my $3500 TV... If they are giving both games for free, there is no way that they will put noticeably more effort into the console version because they will be losing money then... And if they don't put more effort into the console version, then there is no way it will run at 1080p native and that $200 hardware will limit that 1080p part too... It will be lucky to even run at 720p 60fps

On top of that, I don't want another wiiU level of graphics in their next gen console because I have the wiiU for that and at a $200 price point, there is no way that it will be noticeably better than the wiiU in terms of power nor will it be able to render games at 1080p specially considering that not even the x1/ps4 can do it with all their games.

I buy their console because I want their console experience, not because I want the same experience as their handheld, just slightly better... I want it to be leagues better and it is. I want Nintendo to unify their OS so that they can develop more games because it will be easier for the developers to learn and code for, not so they can release the same games on both platforms because there will be zero reason for me to buy the console then

PS4/XB1 struggle to do 1080p because the majority of big games made for them are trying to push hyper-realistic, top of the line visuals, that's not really the type of games Nintendo emphasizes on.

I don't really know what u mean by handheld experience or console experience, most Nintendo games are equally suited for both. Mario Kart 7 & Mario Kart 8? Super Smash 3D & Super Smash U? Mario 3D Land & Mario 3D World? DKC Returns 3D & Tropical Freeze? Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, etc. all function the same on either form factor.

A single unified ecosystem where u can get 20+ Nintendo games per year sounds a whole lot better than buying two seperate devices that each get 10 or so Nintendo games per year.
