Because I don't want the handheld experience on my $3500 TV... If they are giving both games for free, there is no way that they will put noticeably more effort into the console version because they will be losing money then... And if they don't put more effort into the console version, then there is no way it will run at 1080p native and that $200 hardware will limit that 1080p part too... It will be lucky to even run at 720p 60fps
On top of that, I don't want another wiiU level of graphics in their next gen console because I have the wiiU for that and at a $200 price point, there is no way that it will be noticeably better than the wiiU in terms of power nor will it be able to render games at 1080p specially considering that not even the x1/ps4 can do it with all their games.
I buy their console because I want their console experience, not because I want the same experience as their handheld, just slightly better... I want it to be leagues better and it is. I want Nintendo to unify their OS so that they can develop more games because it will be easier for the developers to learn and code for, not so they can release the same games on both platforms because there will be zero reason for me to buy the console then
