I don't have the demo code because I don't currently have a PS4, so I'm hoping someone can get this point across to SE.

Character development cannot be achieved by back and forth banter alone. I understand this is a demo and we haven't seen much of the story (lets' keep it that way until the final game releases), but this has been an issue with all Square Enix games, especially the ones made by the team responsible for FF.

In order for the player to become attached to your characters and like the story they must have constant in-depth conversations. They can't just comment or remark on something for a little bit of time and push it away never to be discussed again.

There seems to be a complete lack of analysis in the way your characters interact. It's like they only comment on things happening around them like a narrator as opposed to actually BEING a character. Discussions should be developed for much longer periods of time and brought up later in the story. It's almost like your characters never actually discuss anything. They will comment on something and agree/disagree maybe have a short argument, but then just leave it in the past never to truly develop.

You guys really need to push the envelope on this in order to write a convincing story. You can't half-ass this.

Also, aside of Prompto, the other characters don't have any personality...especially Gladiolus. It's not just a translation issue, it's the very writing of his character. "Just call me Titan", "Now that's what I call teamwork" and a few other lines of his dialogue were either poorly executed or poorly thought out. The latter dialogue I mentioned about teamwork was very poorly acted out in English. He sounds so robotic. Noctis and Ignis have this issue too.

Finally, and maybe the easiest and most important thing that you guys can take into consideration to help these characters:
**The emotions of your characters need to fluctuate on a constant gray line. Subtlety in transitions of emotions is the key to this, otherwise they become too obnoxious (Vanille, Snow, Chocolina, the mog from FFXIII-2) or too quiet and emotionless (Noctis, Gladiolus, Hope, Lightning). Being Angsty (sudden bouts of anger, usually from a character that is usually quiet) is also obnoxious to the audience. Stay away from that.

Yuna (FFX only) and Auron are two character that have emotions down correctly. Sazh was a stereotype, but still the best written character in FFXIII because his emotional dialect was so varied and his emotions transitioned and progressed well enough.

**If you want a game for inspiration on good dialogue, then look to Final Fantasy 9. Pay attention to all the very important parts of the story...which is quite a lot.**
