As a Nintendo fan I have never said the PS4/XBO will run on weaker hardware, I never ruled out the possibility of a 2DS (or a 3Dless 3DS), I saw it as a impractical thing, but a novel idea if they ever did it. I knew the smartphone move was inevtiable to some degree and I always know Nintendo is looking to improve on their hardware, so I don't see the point of your list. What I am saying it seems impractical to kill off your system this soon into the life of the generation.
