North American preorders

GTA IV 360: ~2.4m
GTA IV PS3: ~1.6m
Mario Kart Wii: ~350k
Wii Fit: ~250k

Corresponds with the Lazard report I linked to earlier within a thread. The indications that the PS3 version is significantly outselling the 360 version for the UK despite a large 360 install base is very promising as well. For the rest of Europe the ratio will surely be much better than for the UK (the 360's strongest market within Europe).

Did you read the thread? The OP was completely debunked and it has become apparent that the 360 version of the game is SOLD OUT!!!

So unless you think the retailer ordered less copies of the game for the console with a larger userbase, this is an indication that the 360 version is outselling the PS3 one, not vica versa.

Did neither of you read the thread?

“Both titles have generated great interest on the Asda website, with strong pre-orders, and the PS3 version is selling three times that of 360, which is surprising and not in line with what we’d expect,” said Asda’s head of games Duncan Cross.

Comet’s games buyer Debbie O’Neill also feels the PS3 will benefit most from GTA’s release on April 29th. “We have great expectations and believe it is going to be a massive hardware driver – especially on PS3.”

HMV said:

HMV’s Tim Ellis has seen more interest for the 360 version: “Demand for both formats is high, but our 1,000 Xbox points offer generated a huge amount of interest.”

PS3 version is outselling 360 version at some retailers, 360 version is outselling PS3 version at some retailers.

One of your quotes has the 360 selling more, one has the PS3 selling more, and one gives no indication either way. So exactly how was I wrong when I pointed out there is no indication that the PS3 version is (to quote MikeB) "significantly outselling the 360 version in the UK?"

Because you didn't say that, you said:

this is an indication that the 360 version is outselling the PS3 one

You're both trying to twist it so that either 360 or PS3 is selling more, when in reality the situation is mixed.
