Wii U should have been powerful enough to eclipse old gen games just by pure grunt, the fact that there is even a debate is very sad. . Those who have knowledge about these types of chips conclude that Wii U's simply isn't big enough to have that many shaders, and in fact, 352 gflops is the generous prediction....176 (or 192 if you add in fixed function via Wii) gflops has been the most recent theory.
Its not worth arguing over HW that is so severely lacking either way...
