Will 3DS in the first year sell more than PSVita lifetime?

Back on topic, the thread is about 3DS VS Vita.

The topic said LIFETIME sales not 1st 2 years-  WII U = 9.3 million+/- lifetime, Vita 10 million+/- lifetime  

So the question remains why compare to Vita when Wii U is trailing it by 700,000 units lifetime?
