I think you're on to someting with this! This makes so much sense, BUT, this IS Nintendo we're talking about, so there's a pretty big chance they WON'T do what you have described. It is what they SHOULD do, but I'm not sure if they will.
If they did, and it worked like you describe it, Nintendo would win so much.
