You can keep the Miis and Saves tough (not the digital games). Copy them (saves and Miis) on a SD-card, remove it and use another for transfer (I think a SD is used for transfer), make the transfer and afterwards copy back your savegames and Miis on the Wii. Now you have them on both, WiiU and Wii.

Okay, yeah maybe I'll look into it then. I don't really have any digital games on Wii anyway, only SMB .
