Series never went cross-gen like it did this generation, but it also took a lot longer to launch on the console and didn't go cross-gen with the first entry when it could have done.

Yakuza Kenzan (PS3-only) - March 2008 (spin-off)

Yakuza 3 (PS3-only) - February 2009 (mainline entry)

Interesting, thanks! So they ditched PS2 under 1.5 years into PS3's life. Hopefully, Yakuza 6 is a xmas 2016 and is ps4 exclusive.
