Why? I'll admit that I've never played the souls series...but I think of games like puzzles and losing at a game and getting lost in a game is the funnest part to me. Once I've beaten a game, and if I really can't find everything I was looking for, I'll look it up sometimes. To each his own, the concept is just foreign to me. |
I'm the same with the majority of other games but with a souls game, I'm not. First thing with a souls game, info about the game is extremely limited in-game. Nothing is ever really explained to you. Certain creatures and bosses in general drop highly valuable upgrade materials that have one time use in that playthrough. If you squader the material, you'll have to wait til new game plus to get more of it. For example, a boss's soul can be used to either upgrade or create a special weapon, unlock a spell or miracle or consume it for xp/money. You won't know any details about a specific boss's soul until you look it up. It's very easy to ruin a playthrough. The first playthrough is the easy mode version. After you beat the game, you'll go into new game + and it's twice as hard as the first playthrough. Each time you beat the game, it makes it harder. If you want decent weapons and gear in new game plus then you have to know how to obtain that gear.
