In terms of graphics, animation, and presentation, yes, far better. As far as actual gameplay, in some areas yes, in others, no. Like any sports game, they had flaws.
2k5 in particular though is looked back on with the rosiest tinted glasses ever because of the exclusive contract EA signed.
That said, i love football games. So even without the NFL license, if this really exists, ill buy it.
