"Maybe it has been too long since Nintendo has grabbed me. Maybe I'm too old. Maybe when I look at Nintendo games today, I wonder why I'd bother when I have...you know, grown-up games I have to catch up on."

No more needs to be said.

Indeed. The words of person determined to play the role of an adult but who's yet to discover what that actually means.

"Grown-up games", ha:)!

I think some people DO shy away from Nintendo because they are insecure... but there are alot of people who really just can't get past the cute, child like outter shell of most of their IP. This dates all the way back to the SNES. Some people like grit and edge to their games. Nintendo really doesn't provide that as far as first party goes.

Recently, I've procured an old Genesis and a bunch of games. I also have a SNES. I couldn't BELIEVE just how cutesy SMW is by comparison to some of the stuff I am playing on Genesis. I mean, I grew up with these games, and I owned both consoles back in the day and loved both but man... Nintendo really does cater to little kids. SMW is a fantasic platformer but it's so childlike, it's ridiculous.

I don't think there's anything wrong with someone prefering more adult with their games... as long as it's a genuine taste issue.
