I can see the value/logic of some games being ported to the old gen consoles. Especially since there's still plenty of holdouts on the old gen consoles. The companies are trying to maximize their sales and it doesn't hurt the games' level of quality. Old gen consoles are still selling. Why would a company cut support for a product that still sells.
There's a lot of impatience all around with the gaming consumers. Console gens last too long. Whining about about delays. Wanting constant updates on games in development. It not the end of the world.
