The only window I can think of them being in a dominant position was during the first 2 or 3 years of the 360s life. But they were still outsold by the Nintendo Wii and were plagued with the RROD. So although they had good sales and had some great games even then it wasn't a clear win.

The domiated nothing. The Playstation and the Xbox were dominated by the hype known as the Nintendo Wii.
