I just really don't understand how 3 of the 4 dungeons are of high quality compared to most of the other 3d games, or how the side quests are particularly rewarding? Again 3 out of 4 dungeon designs seem very basic and forgettable in the game to me compared to its other 3D brethren, and quests have the same reward they always do (a bottle or an unneeded piece of heart). The only difference is you're getting a mask to get said piece of heart, but in the end the reward is still the same. That's why I'd rather a Zelda not focus on side quests as much as the main quest, because they're just not that rewarding. Unless they're gonna change the series conventions one of these days and make them more rewarding (something I really hope they're doing in Zelda U given that massive overworld).

I just think because critics have always been the most praising of OoT and the harshest on MM of the 3d Zeldas, some people automatically develop a hipster type of mentality that the opposite therefore has to be true. Not to discredit some people who really might just like MM the best, but I have to say I can't understand their reasoning for such. Seems very nostalgia/going against the trend based most of the time to me.
