Honestly, people are losing their minds here but I actually don't see the issue if they do this as they describe. This won't be where Nintendo's next games go. IP are more flexible than that, especially mascot based ones. I expect things like Puzzles and Dragons crossovers, Dedede's Drum Dash type things, and more things akin to Pokemon Trading Card game. This could help their other sectors. It could provide a lot of brand exposure and recognition.
