I wasn't a gamer in 2006 (yes, the wii is my first console since ps1), but if i had known how much the PS2 and PS1 sold i wouldn't have predicted nintendomination.
However, since i saw the wii i knew it would be huge (but as i said, i didn't know anything about gaming)
