But if an English version was already done for the US, why should English speaking countries like the UK, Australia and New Zealand have to wait on French, German, and Italian language versions?

That is something i have asked myself many times. I think those of who have no problems with english, which in addition to UK, Australia and New Zealand includes Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland have suffered long enough because some European nations are too lazy to read and learn english. Sorry for going off topic, it is just something that has bothered me since 1993

Movies, books, video games and other media are getting translated because many people prefer their entertainment in their own mother language or because they like to have a choice between different languages they can understand. So why force English (or Japanese) on them if they have less fun that way.

Because in certain cases it was either in english or not at all. Think Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest or Chrono Trigger in the days of NES and Super NES
