Will we have a proper 3D Mario game this gen?

3d world seemed like an evolution of galaxy 1 & 2 for me.

I'm far more into the exploration orientated Marios of 64 and Sunshine, but I don't really understand why galaxy fans would be that disappointed with 3d World.
