XBO have a pricedrop... ok, and so? We already see the XBO number's with this pricedrop, and we have just +7% increase both in January/February, is even MUCH probabily that this March will be down, because last year was Titanfall, so, why yuo think that the price will make a difference when we already see that it don't have make a massive boost? Last year XBO was ONLY Watch_Dogs? You know that Watch_Dogs is MUCH bigger game than Martal Kombat and The Witcher, really? You 70,000 XBO basis for this summer just don't will happen... |
I don't think you're looking at the context enough. The 7%+ you are using is a comparison to when the xbox was doing well immediately after launch, just as the PS4 currently being down YOY is a comparison to it selling crazy immediately after launch. The true extent of the XB1 price cut and growth (and the PS4 growth) will be most visible during the weakest points in the year. Similarly the Wii U during its weakest point in 2013 (august) only managed 20k on a week, in 2014 however it was selling 40k in the same period. That 100% YOY growth is not representative of the whole year but specifically during the weak periods. So all of the times you mentioned XBO only selling 30-40k is when it will be up most YOY. Do you get where I'm coming from?
In regard to the titles being released in the summer
-5 big releases >>> 1 massive release.
-Next gen exclusive (all mentioned titles) >> Cross gen with PS3/360 (Watch Dogs)
-Batman alone could poetentially be bigger then Watchdogs. Arkham City sold 5m per platform. Arkham Origin was down significantly but its easy to understand why (end of gen/not a true sequel)
-Also watchdogs was a new Ip exclusively marketed by sony which limited its effect on xbox platforms. Batman is being marketed by sony but its already a well established multiplatform title with xbox affiliation alongside playstation.
