Oh, I still think that... for mainline games. For spinoffs I couldn't care less what the battle system is. I do actually like action RPGs (some at least) so yeah...

I'm sorry but this line of thinking is total nonsense for FF. I would understand where you're coming from if it had a continuous story like other franchises, but aside from the few direct sequel (X-2, and such) the "mainline" games in FF have nothing to do with each other. They are all "spin off" games
