It was 5 years in development even for a smaller team like RaD thats expensive over that much time.

That doesn't mean it needs to sell a massive number to break even.

Alan Wake was developed for about 5 years as well and still became profitable over time.

RaD is located in Irvine, California. While Remedy is located in Finland, thats a huge difference in wages that accumulate over 5 years.

Also I doubt The Order will sell 1.3M like Alan Wake.
