Also, if possible, forget about polygons and use sprites like in AoE 1&2. Those games in HD look miles better than AoE 3.

I have to disagree with that. I personally think that AoE 3 has better graphics than AoE 2 HD. And look at how gorgeous some of the more recent RTS games are, like Grey Goo and Tropico 5, AoE 4 could look even better than those 2 since it likely is going to have a bigger budget (the job listings for Decisive Games say that the game is AAA).

It's ok.

I just prefer the look of the sprite based AoE games, I find them more warm. AoE 3 looked "colder" to me, less likeable.

I kinda prefer the sprites of old myself, 3 just didn't sit well with me and they also cut out a few good things from the previous games, it felt slightly like a barebones new AOE.

OT: I'd love if they just made the PC version first and made the XB1 version afterwards, I don't want anything holding an old RTS coming back in a big way, MS hit it big with AOE and someone needs to bring back the RTS genre in a big way, it may as well be Microsoft since Grey goo, Planetary Annihilation and recently Homeworld RM collection, all 3 are good RTS games (well maybe not so much PA since it needs more fixing and polish) but they didn't bring the genre back in full swing and all 3 haven't really generated a massive following like older RTS games like AOE had.

Also I really don't want the game cut into tiny pieces and sold as DLC, no day 1 DLC, just do expansions like the good old days, make an expansion say 1 year down the road and the year after that perhaps, doing stuff that way can go a long way to earning back trust and the RTS genre itself, fuck it all to hell with DLC and focus more on the XB1 side (UI and downgrades and other tacked on crap) and you risk blowing the game up and another chance at RTS revival.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
