8th gen Nintendo published titles, could Nintendo support themselves with a unified concept?

Yep, no longer will there be the need to make 2 entries of all their primary franchises which will allow them to branch out make more new ip or revive old ones.

Yeah. One of the things i really miss is those days where you anxiously waited for the next Mario or next Zelda.

I think they are overusing their biggest franchises and not really working hard to create new heavyweights. Some Wii series games did that but those days seem to be gone.
Splatoon is a great step in that direction and all the attention it has got so far shows that Nintendo knows they need something more and they should continue doing that.
