The gameplay didn't interest me. Plus, I'm not interested in forced GamePad usage. At least not the kind that actually forces me to look AT the GamePad rather than the TV. For a mini-game, that's passable, but for an entire game, no thanks. I want to see the beautiful, vivid, uniquely-styled graphics in full resolution on my big-screen TV, not look at the downgraded, smaller GamePad screen. If it was a traditional Kirby game, I would have bought it. But the rehashed DS gameplay (seriously, Nintendo...stop trying to make the Wii U into a DS console....it doesn't work the same when the GamePad and TV aren't in the same field of view the way the DS and 3DS screens are) priced at $40 made me pass.
