I have yet to come accross a Wii U game that costs more than 65 bucks, for the game alone anyway. It's damn annoying that it is still an extra 5 bucks than the US but I reflect and realize that is could be much worse when I look at what the UK, parts of Europe and Australia pay for games, so then I realize and extra 5 bucks isn't too bad. Yes Smash is 65, just like almost every other big Wii U game, with the exception of Capt Toad or Kirby and those kinds of cheaper entry games (I'm very happy Nintendo is doing this BTW) but they are still 45 bucks instead of 40, c'est la vie. Calgary, so not far from ya. It's actually that way in PEI and NS as well. When I was in those places last year I always make an effort to stop by ebgames or game stores to check what they have and for potentially rare used games I might want. Also Moncton, NB. Of course that was all 2014. So far in 2015 in Abbotsford the prices were the same, at least last month when I was there. Well, I guess I am wrong to be doubtful since you have shown me a few games that are now preselling at 75. Best thing you can do, I suppose, would be to not buy them and refuse to buy them at that price point, or buy them somewhere else. These are actually record prices for games in Canada. Besides the likes of rock band or that kind of thing, I have not seen prices that high before. That really is ridiculous without doubt. My apologies for doubting you, I have been happily stuck in my Wii U world where it has only went up to 65 with the exception of Mario Party 10 with the Amiibo which is sitting at 70 last I checked, which is 10 bucks more than the US. I was doubting they would go up to a higher price point they what they are now... errr... last month. I hadn't seen the clear proof till you actually showed me. That is why I was doubting. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I doubt you personally or anything, but lots of people just say stuff on the net, like I did actually. I wasn't up on the most recent news of the prices going up to the new price point. Luckily not all retailers are using those price points, it's mostly just EBgames (they suck btw) and there are still many other options, even Amazon which was mentioned in the article, I checked and they still have them at the 70 price point (Disgaea) instead of the 75, it's not much better but it's still only 10 bucks instead of 15, at least on Amazon.ca anyway. But now I do have a much better understanding of where you are coming from with this. However, since this is all about Code Name STEAM which is only 5 bucks more than the US, it seems like it would still be a good value purchase for the time being. If you haven't tried the demo, do so. I was expecting a good game, I was surprised to find, at least in my opinion, a great game. Thanks for being patient.

Well the issue is that there is going to be another price hike for games very soon cause the CAD continues to fall and I proved that by my second link where the prices of games are going from $70 to $75 which will probably mean that the wiiU game prices will also be going up. And what I am arguing about is that they havn't been $5-$10 more than the US for several years and its only since 2014 which wasn't that long ago, that the game prices in Canada went up by $5-$10. And yes, our CAD was slightly lower than the USD before but it never affected the game prices... It only affected the game prices starting from 2014. And it is a big deal cause a) I don't only play on the wiiU/3ds and b) I have to pay for more stuff than just games so as the game prices goes up and the wage stays the same, it really does become a big deal and it does add up
And heres the thing, I don't care about the prices in the UK or in any other places cause those don't affect me directly... What does affect me directly is the Canadian game prices
At the end of the day, what my issue is that gaming as a whole has gotten more expensive due to the CAD... And not only gaming but a few other things as well like my car insurance, my phone bill and my internet bill but if we take away all those bills and just focus on gaming, I play video games on PC, wiiU, 3ds, ps3 and vita and almost all of them have games coming out this year that I want. You have games like MGS V, Witcher 3, Persona 5, Zelda, the new Fire Emblem and plenty more and since the game prices have gone up, I have to adjust my spending accordingly and a good number of games will soon use the $75 model and I am pretty sure the wiiU and 3ds games prices will go up as well. They just seem to go up after the majority has gone up and it was the case last year as well. Now, those might be cheaper than the rest but paying $70 per game is still a lot since the wage hasn't gone up. Cause I don't make extra money to offset the price hike, I make the same amount of money as I did before while my cost of gaming has gone up. Don't get me wrong, I am not poor and I have a great job and stuff but I do spend my money on plenty of other things than gaming so it really is a big deal for me and I know that Codename Steam might be a great game but I will have to skip it for even greater games that will be coming out in the future.
And no worries, we all know we got other stuff to do than just chat on forums loll
